“Happy 2019…”

Happy 2019… It feels super strange to type that. I promise that this year I will get used to blog posting (I love typing up my emails…but I am not very good at converting it to a post which is why I am giving this post a date so I can track my progress) I digress…back to the blog…

If any of you have struggled to find your groove this year, I feel you!!! To be honest, I didn’t even want to go back to the same gym after the holidays, which doesn’t make sense does it?! But ‘gymphobia’ (for lack of a better word) is very real! I loved being more relaxed around food and having a break from gym and training BUT having to go back to my normal routine scared the hell out of me- I mean, what would people think? Thoughts such as, ‘Shame what happened to Jo’ started going through my mind. Completely irrational thoughts too.

Until I told myself to snap out of It. I sat down with a pen and paper and actually got some goals (and direction) onto paper. If you haven’t done this yet, please do!!! It sounds silly but it’s soooo important. Not only will it help to reduce anxiety, but it helps you to feel as if you are in control (not the other way around) I have broken up my goals into small, and easily attainable steps. I feel that the key to healthy living (and healthy eating) can be summed up in one word: CONSISTENCY. If you consistently aim to be better than you were the previous day, if you consistently aim to choose healthier foods, to move your body more, to listen to your body more, and and and, YOU WILL SEE RESULTS!!!

If you want to get into shape this year, or you just want to live a healthier life in 2019, your focus has to be on consistency. Most people seem to make the mistake of focusing on intensity and are trying their best to get super fit, or eat extremely healthy, in the hopes of seeing results as quickly as possible, but in actual fact- intensity only needs to come AFTER you have mastered something competently and consistently. The same can be said in your relationships or in your career. All your energy has to be directed towards making an effort, giving your best, and being consistent every single day! Don’t try to completely change your life just because it’s a new year! Rome wasn’t built in a day, as the saying goes. Just focus on consistently bettering yourself. Consistently making healthier choices. Consistently striving to improve your situation or the lifestyle that you are leading. This is one the greatest keys to success. Especially when it comes to life long goals like your health, your relationships or your career.

I am far from perfect and I hope that nothing I ever say comes across in a way that could make people think that I feel that I am. I’m goal driven and would like nothing more than to help others reach their goals, whatever shape or form that may be in. If you would like to share what some of your goals for the year are- I would love to put together a post that could hopefully inspire others…even if it’s just to give them an idea of what they could focus on. Accountability is key…so please feel free to comment with some of your goals below. I hope this year is an amazing one. I have huge goals in place for this little space that I’ve created and with your help, I hope to be able to achieve them. All my love (and peanut butter) Jo
