“Cos I’ve had a bad day…”

Bad days…we all have them…Sometimes it feels as if I have had weeks…Hell, let’s be honest here…Sometimes it feels like bad months LOL…

It’s easy for someone to tell you (or for you to tell yourself) ‘Come on, be positive’ or ‘This too shall pass’…

While those are both awesome little ‘sayings’ that I try my best to live by, putting those into practice when you are feeling nothing short of sh1t is a whole other story…

The thing is though…You are allowed to have bad days…You are allowed to have days where you just don’t feel like your happy self…You are allowed to have days where you would rather Netflix and chill than have to face people…All of those things are OKAY!!! When it becomes a regular thing though, that’s when I suggest you seek help or speak to someone close to you…

Anyway…I was having a really bad day…It was one of those ‘I just took my car for a wash and then it started to rain’ kind of days…EVERYTHING went wrong…Everything probably went wrong because of the mindset I was in, but try telling me that then, I would have probably death stared the hell out of you LOL…

So what do you do when you are having a bad day and are desperate for it to turn around? You go to the gram to get some inspo from all of you lovely people…

I love the ideas that came up so I thought I would put a composite list together of all the goodies I received…

(The next time you have a bad day…Give one of these a try…Perhaps your day will turn around)

HOW TO FIX A BAD DAY…

  1. F.R.I.E.N.D.S- I am pretty sure that this first idea is pretty self explanatory!!! If you have been living under a rock and have never watched an episode of the show…Do yourself a favour!!! And if you have watched it before, watch it again…According to experts, FRIENDS helps those dealing with anxiety. The characters in the show have to deal with their own problems and worries and always overcome them which in turn gives us, the viewers, hope for whatever is stressing us out!

2. Netflix and chill…This is pretty similar to my first point but it was listed a lot so I thought I needed to mention it…By Netflix and chill I really mean, put your feet up, find something nice to watch on tv and just switch off…Sometimes you need an escape and binge watching a TV show is a lot healthier than…well a lot of unhealthy things LOL…

3. Run a relaxing bath…This may sound like a potion and I honestly thought this was all rubbish in the beginning but it really does help…just a word of warning- You will sweat…ALOT!!!

4. Call a friend or family member (even one you haven’t spoken to in a while) and just chat…About surface value stuff, about important stuff, about anything…Just catch up!!!

5. EXERCISE!!!! This one was also mentioned a lot and it’s what I typically turn to as well!!! In the words of Elle Woods…

I try take my workout outdoors…I’m not sure if it’s something to do with being in nature or with breathing in fresh air, but I always seem to gain some perspective…

6. Speaking of perspective…Take a moment and try to find out the cause of your bad day- Did something specific happen and can you change anything about the situation? What did you learn from it? Sometimes I find that we act emotionally about things instead of logically, and when the problem is put down on paper we are able to actually rationalize it better…

7. Have a nap…I love that a few people mentioned this!!! I am one of those people that just can’t nap!!! But if I could I would!!! When I’m tired, I am super grumpy and irritable so perhaps a short power nap would do the trick…

8. Music!!!! I think I love this idea so much I need to include it more than once!!!! Honestly, music is everything!!! Put your earphones in if you have to…Find some golden oldies and a few sing alongside and just dance!!! You will be burning some extra calories too hahahaha.

9. Make yourself something YUMMY to eat…like seriously…go the extra mile!!!! If you are making yourself some hot chocolate, put some marshmallows in your hot choc (and they can be sugar free if they have to be) #beextra

10. This one is linked to the idea above but BAKE!!! Honestly, spending time in the kitchen has to be the best cure for anything and the cheapest form of therapy!!!! When I was little and my mom would come home and find me in the kitchen she would immediately say ‘What happened today?’ It’s probably why I’ve baked half the recipes I’ve baked hahahaha…

THANK YOU, as always for being so special!!! Your support and friendship (whether it be online or in person) is treasured more than I could say…If this post resonates with you in any way or if you feel someone else may need to read it…Please share it, or let me know 😉 The screen shots and posts that I get tagged in has really helped me to reach more people…THANK YOU!!!
